A new chapter opened in Bihar’s long history of spiritual excellence when Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah started a centre at Chapra on Ramanavami, 2003. This centre has historical significance, for Chapra is the birth place of Swami Adbhutananda (Latu Maharaj), the only sannyasi disciple of Sri Ramakrishna who was born outside Bengal. Incidentally, it is the first centre of the Mission in Bihar to have been started after the independence of India.
All the medical relief activities for the rural poor are being sponsored by the munificience of a variety of Donors to meet the recurring expenses. We express our heartfelt gratitude to them for extending the support to these programmes.

The Ramakrishna Mission, Chapra is undertaking several projects that will serve the devotees and the rural poor in and around Chapra as well as all nearby regions.
