Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Chapra is a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission with headquarters at Belur Math (Distt. Howrah, West Bengal, India, see. www.rkmhq.org. The Centre taken into the Ramakrishna Mission in 2003, was started as a private ashrama commemorating the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna’s sannyasi disciple. Swami Adbhutananda.

The Chapra Ashrama’s main activities aim for the spiritual and cultured well being of all classes of people. But in recognition that spiritual and cultured well being are impossible unless  some  amount of   physical  health and

 

hygiene, medical services, and primary & vocational education to the poor people of the town and some surrounding villages. Prayer, worship, meditation, and discourses are conducted regularly in the Ashrama shrine dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, and the great monk of India. Swami Vivekananda. During the year the main festivals of the Hindu religion are observed, as also the Christian festival or Christmas Eve, Buddha Jayanti and others.
