- Mother teenager.
- Advanced maternal age.
- History of previous preterm birth.
- Drug addiction and alcoholism.
- Inadequate monitoring of pregnancy.
- Diabetes.
- Maternal genital tract infections and amnionitis.
- Premature rupture of membranes.
