Hygiene of the skin
Good skin cleansing is the best way to avoid or treat acne. Wash your face with a mild cleanser two or three times a day. Do not wash too often or the skin will dry, which compounds the problem.
Use a good facial cleanser (remember that the secretions of the glands of the skin are increased) Tips bath time is a good idea to take a relaxing immersion bath every night, using oil instead of soap, a few drops of coconut oil, almond or olive oil or essential oils such as cedar, camphor, pine or lanolin in the bath are revitalizing and improve your skin. Also a good idea to massage your entire body after bath oils or moisturizers especially in abdomen and breast. In the shower, you should use neutral soaps or gels. Bathing, preferably with hot water, is allowed up to six weeks before delivery. Since that time, the shower is better to avoid infections.
IMPORTANT: Do not take medicines for acne or counter treatments without checking with your health care professional. Some of these products can be dangerous for pregnant women. Accutane (also known as isotretinoin, Amnesteem and Claravis) is a prescription medication to treat severe acne. Belongs to the family of drugs called retinoids. Accutane and other retinoids can cause severe birth defects.
Sun Protection
The skin is more sensitive during pregnancy. It is important to adequately protect against the sun. The sun can darken pigment changes and enhance the propensity for “mask of pregnancy”. Use a good sunscreen, cover up and wear a hat when outside. Avoid being outdoors between 10 am and 2 pm. Read the rest of this entry »
